5 reasons why drones are the future of every business

By Akshat Sharma 24th April 2019

Few pieces of technology electrified tech lovers and the general public. The unmanned aerial vehicle, famously called as drones are one of those animated technologies that have accelerated in the past few decades and will continue to affect every business possible as technology advances in the future.

An unmanned aerial vehicle typically refers to a pilotless aircraft that operates through a combination of technologies, including artificial intelligence, object avoidance and other sensors such as
LIDAR, a remote sensing technology that uses rapid laser pulses to map out the surface of the earth.

Businesses across industries realized that drones have multiple commercial applications some of which go beyond basic surveillance and photography which are already being used to transform daily work in every industry vertical.

Insurance companies are also using drones to inspect damaged assets, farmers are sending them to monitor crops and collect soil data. Even more dramatic changes could be in store as innovators explore new ways and use cases.

Do you think you know drones? Think again

Future of unmanned aerial vehicle

1: Projected market hike

Projected market hike of unmanned aerial vehicle

FAA predicted that seven million drones or unmanned aerial vehicle will be seen adorning the sky and commercial drone sales alone will reach 2.7 million by 2020. As the technology is proving to be reliable, there will be a growing demand for job-specific drone platforms.

On the other hand, the Chinese giant DJI still dominates the market with over 70% of the share. Amazon has also proposed drone delivery service by 2026. Developments within could signal how commercial drone usage and investment will proceed in other markets.

2: Efficient and time-saving process
Drones or unmanned aerial vehicle are proving to be the most essential tool in multiple sectors. They are fast and convenient capable of delivering in just a few minutes. Other traditional means of transport will get affected by traffic, drones are immune from it for obvious reasons. Drones are smaller, light-weighted that provides emergency response teams with an ideal solution for identifying victims in the required time. This can save a lot of time and money with an increase in operational efficiency.

3: Drones will save more lives
Search and rescue would be the first where drones are of great importance. Every year about 50 roofers are killed on the job. Drones provide quick support that saves time and lives and can cover more ground effectively. These missions can be risky and time-consuming. Drones largely save lives in every situation where humans are always on the edge.

4: Drones will provide more employment
Drones won’t necessarily be bad for employment. Some jobs will get replaced with better job opportunities. Nowadays many institutions are offering piloting certificate courses, which may help multi rotors enthusiasts and other tech lovers to get the specified path.

Drones will be able to gather far more data points than human. This will replace lower-level jobs with more analytical roles. A pilot certification will be required to operate drones efficiently. Also, some of the jobs might get replaced by people trying to do things to mitigate against environmental harm which will be a great step towards saving our environment.

5: Enormous use cases
When it comes to drones, the sky is the limit. Drones by design allow researchers to reach the skies and capture visual information with the right computing power and programming. They can translate any landscape into a data point which can then be used in several ways.

Conclusion

Businesses have used drones largely in video and photography, especially for marketing purposes but there are enormous applications of UAV technology that might surprise in future from agriculture to construction site surveillance. Drones are a multipurpose tool that offers the potential to reimagine some of the most critical ways humanity operates.
