Q) Starting an on-demand food delivery is definitely a great idea. Tell us a little about Delivery Hero and your personal motivation for starting this service?

Our founders started in a market characterized by huge inefficiencies. People ordered food after they found a flyer of an unknown pizzeria in their letterbox, or via restaurants operated in business areas without any profession knowledge, in particular marketing and customer service. The service from Delivery Hero is enabling restaurants to focus on their core competence, i.e. cooking and offering great food to people.  

Q) Can you give us a rundown of how it works?

It’s very simple: you choose your favourite food from a restaurant in your neighborhood, and with one click, your online order goes straight to the restaurant kitchen.

Our service is providing customers with an overview of all the restaurants situated close to their respective locations. With millions of customer reviews and ratings available, it’s easy to always find the best restaurants and tastiest food in your area. You can pay online, save money with special deals, and even save your favourite menus to order back and again. We make sure that the entire customer experience is absolutely convenient, and the food is warm and tasty.

Q) You are present in many countries in the world as of now. What is your strategy when launching service in other areas?

It’s always about the best customer experience. So if customers from specific countries have specific requirements, we try to integrate these requirements into our service.

Q) Could you shed some light on the technology and tools used to build Delivery Hero?

There are features such as live tracking that are very popular among our users. In general, a great product comprises many details that together result in a great experience, i.e. being fast, smart and self-explanatory.

Q) What is one particular Marketing Tool or process which you swear by, that has helped you gain more users on the platform?

There are great marketing tools out there, but we wouldn’t like to pick one particular tool.

Q) What are your future plans? Are you planning to integrate more features in the service?

We are constantly working on our product. In particular, we opt for those features that simplify procedures rather than making the order experience complex.

Q) What is your onboarding process for users, if any?

Our product doesn’t require a special onboarding for users.

Q) What is Delivery Hero’s biggest achievement to date? How did you go about accomplishing this?

It’s hard to pick a particular achievement. For sure, we are proud to be one of the global leaders in our space, making more orders and having more restaurants than our market-listed competitors. This helped us to become one of the most reputed and valued start-ups in Europe.

Q) Where do you see Delivery Hero in five years?

Talking about our prolonged vision, say in 30 years, our service might be the replacement for kitchens in private households.

Q) Any advice for startups trying to make it big or join the On-Demand space?

The act of creating something new that people want to use is awesome and challenging. Don’t give up.
