Fugu is a single or group chatting app that allows communication, engagement on a single platform. Share your ideas, discuss your projects, manage attendance at a much faster rate with Fugu. It easily integrates with the third-party tools for effective collaboration. Better communication and various chatbots make things easier to do.
Fugu Self-Hosted is the self- hosted version of Fugu cloud. You can also have a trial of our cloud version to understand the functionality provided by Self-Hosted. Since the Self-Hosted version will be set up and mounted in customers premises, the data security will be fully governed at the customers end.
Elements of Fugu
Fugu comes with everything your team needs to communicate and collaborate effectively from messaging and audio/video calling, to productivity and project management tools. The Fugu platform is built on interconnected elements – workspace, channels, and third-party integrations.
The workspace on fugu is where your colleagues work together. You can create teams for an entire organisation, a business unit, or even a community.
Channels are where members can discuss projects, share knowledge, and connect around shared interests. You can create as many channels as needed for different topics, departments, and shared interests. For example, you can create channels for marketing discussions, web design projects, hiring updates, and any other interests.
Third Party API Integration permits you to develop custom applications that connect directly with your third-party software so that you can add features or improve upon business processes.
Once you signed up, then it asked to create new workspace where you have to give the workspace name. Workspace is the place where you can share your information and communicate with all the members.
After creating workspace you will be directed into that workspace. By default one who created workspace is owner and manager of that workspace. After creating the workspace there is an option to invite members into workspaces. Owner of the workspace can send invitation links for members to join workspace.
Once you have entered into workspace you can also create multiple workspaces as per your requirement.
How to create multiple workspaces?
Click on the drop down menu in the top left corner.
Then you can see an option to create a new space.
Then you can create workspace and asked to give space name.
Invite New Members
New users can onboard Fugu by joining the invitation sent by Team admin. Admin can add n number of members in that space and can chat with that members.
With the “Invite Members” feature, you can grow your community beyond the workspace.
The Owner or Admin can send a join link through mail. The client will get a joining link and he can become a member of the workspace.
With Fugu, everyone in the team can chat with every individual by just clicking on the contact. All the chats are private by default.
Type the name of person in search bar to find them.
What are channels?
Channels(Groups) in fugu bring people together to discuss about any projects or business deals.There are three types of groups private, public and default. In private group only admin can add the members while in public group every individual can have option to add to account when comes to default, person added to workspace automatically added to default group.
You can create as many as you need. Through groups you can make group audio and video calling.
In the left top corner there is an option Create Group.
Once you click on create a group it automatically shows members in the workspace or directly you can search names and also you can skip this add members, after creating group you can add members.
Then you can have multiple options like giving group name, add group icon and there is an option to make a group private or public.
Add members to channels
Group Admin can add members into group while creating group or can be added after creating group also.
Click on “i” symbol group info in the top-right corner in that info you can see an option “Add Members”.
Manage channel notifications
In Group chats we receive too many notifications that pull us out of focus and make us check out our phones constantly. Fugu has a built-in controls to manage notifications.
Go to any group → open group info → Manage Notifications, you can select preference as you wish.
Manage channel members
You can make any person as an admin of the group or can remove from group at any time.
Go to any group→ Open group info→ Group Information, then manage members in the group as per your wish.
Leave or delete a channel
Member of any group have an option to leave group i.e, members of the group can leave that group any time. And also admin have an option delete group i.e, Admin can delete group permanently from worksapace.
Go to any Group→ open group info→ Leave Group & Delete Group
1-1 or group audio/video call
Call your friends, colleagues for free with fugu calling, even if they are in another country. Fugu calls use your phone’s internet connection rather than your cellular plans. You can make 1-1 or group calls.
You can share your screen to other members added in a group by following some basic steps-
Edit/Delete a Message
We also have an option of “Edit” by clicking on three dots.User can Edit the message after sending also.
User can also delete the message once sent to the member by clicking on the three dots shown left to the message.
You can also mark your text as Starred Message.With the help of this option you can easily see your important messages separately as starred messages.
Fugu allows you to share files with team members in direct messages and channels. Presentations, documents, spreadsheets – you can share it all with ease.
Click on the “+” symbol option right to the chat dialogue box and then select attach option
Fugu has another interesting option of creating a poll.First, you have to click on “+” the Poll option will be visible, ask a question you want to and give multiple options for it.
User can search previous messages just by searching it on the search bar instead of searching it manually in chats.
Type the message you want to search here.
Click on the Emoji Option to add a reaction to any message.
Replying to the Text
Here we can see three options.By clicking on three dots we get a drop down menu.By clicking on Reply, we can Reply to any text.
These are the bots included in Fugu which are explained under “Apps and Integration”.
Owner and Admin have the access to change the workspace settings by clicking on the top right drop down menu bar.
Under workspace settings, we have three tabs settings, permissions and members.
Under permissions tab we have two more options Invitations and Delete/Edit message.
This is how member tabs look like.Where owner/admin can see added members to the workspace.
We can see the activated/deactivated members just by selecting the option from here.
We can search the members from the search bar area.
We can also Invite new members from here also.
Only Owner can transfer the ownership by clicking the transfer ownership option as shown in the picture below.
Owner/Admin both can switch any of the user as admin.
Apps & Integrations
Fugu has features that allow you to integrate many complex services in it.
Some of the APIs that can be integrated in Fugu are:
Where Tookan bot, Attendance bot, Scrum Bot, Alert Bot and Conference bot are products of Jungle Works whereas Jira, Bit Bucket and Trello are third-party APIs.
Conference Bot provides one-click video conferences right in your browser without requiring PIN codes or additional software. This integration lets your team use “click video icon” showing in the group to start a video conference in your channel, making it easy for others to join the call. You can just copy and send the conference link to the non-fugu users also.

How to add conference bot in Fugu?
Go to Fugu Bots option that can be found on the top right corner of your admin dashboard.
Select Conference Bot. It will load another window which will introduce you to conference bot.
Click on Enable to activate the conference Bot.It will activate the click video icon,Thus allow you to make video/voice calls.
AttendanceBot can be summed up as the one bot to rule leave management and time tracking. It will send your leave request for approval, notify you on its status and put it on your calendar. Admin and HR managers can create more vacation types, set up accruals and let people query their balances, extract powerful reports, view the absence data on the beautiful external dashboard, ingest local holidays. Time tracking with AttendanceBot is a breeze. With simple ‘in’ and ‘out’ messages, clock in and out and keep a track of your work hours and export accurate timesheets right inside Fugu. You can set your team Punch In or Punch Out with powerful features like Face recognition and geo location.
Go to Fugu Bots option that can be found on the top right corner of your admin dashboard
Click on Enable to activate the attendance bot.
Attendance Bot Owner Settings
Admin can also view the attendance bot Settings just by typing “settings” in the chat bar.
By clicking on the link provided,you will be redirected to this below window.In which we have four options.
Here we can set our workspace session duration followed by Roles, we can see the Admins and HR.
Under working week, we can tick and untick the working weeks and can also change the Time tracking settings.
By default for punching in and out Camera option is selected that only asks for face recognition, but we can change it to location, both and none.
If we select LOCATION/BOTH we can geo-fence the area for restricting the member to PUNCH IN inside the geo-fenced area only.This feature stops fake proxies.
People- Under people tab we can see all the members added in a workspace along with their manager names.
Leave types- Under leave types tab you can check what type of leave has member applied, it’s annual count, accrual interval.
Leave balance- It allows to check how much leaves have been left as balance for members.

How to Get into Scrum Bot?
If you install Scrum Bot then it becomes one of the channels in the workspace. Manager of the workspace has access to Scrum Bot.
Type Settings and send then one link will be appeared, click on that link to open settings.
Get Fugu Notifications when something interesting happens on your product. Easy to integrate webhook which can be triggered by HTTP POST request with your message parameter.
How to get into Alert Bot?
Click on install to enable the Alert Bot
You can get Alert Bot as one of the channels in the workspace.
In that channel you will get the details of people who are signed up or registered in your platform.
